この間“街はクリスマスソングの洪水”と書いたのですけれど、今日は実はその洪水が嫌いでもないっていう趣旨でいきたいと思いますｗ。
わもはクリスマスには縁がないっていうか疎いんですけど、好きな点を1つあげるとしたらクリスマスソングがあります。この時期街を歩いているとあらゆるクリスマスソングが流れてきますよね。クリスチャンにとっては大事な日だけあってかクリスマスソングには名曲・名演奏が多いように思うのです。
有名なクリスマスソングとしてはホワイトクリスマスとかきよしこの夜、なんかがありますけれど僕が特に好きなのが

の2曲。僕はこの曲を竹内まりやさんが歌うThe Christmas Songと山下達郎さんが歌うHave Yourself A Merry Little Christmasで知ったのです。達郎さんはこの2曲をメドレーとしてアレンジしたのですが何かの事情で1つのアルバムには収めることが出来ずご夫婦であるお2人のアルバムに1曲ずつ収録したのだそうです。一度ラジオで続けて流れているのを聴いたことがあります。
どちらもメロディーが美しい曲なんですけれど、街を歩いているといろんなひとがそれぞれのスタイルで演奏しているのを耳にすることが出来ます。本当に世の中にはいろんな音楽があるんだなぁと実感できて、例年この時期のささやかな楽しみでもあります。中には見事なまでに(僕が思うところの)この曲の美しさをそぎ落としているのもある(コンビニでよくかかってる)わけですが、まあそれもそれとして。
というわけで僕も集めてみました。

↑これはfinetuneというサービスなんですけれど簡単に説明すると、200万もの曲を無料で配信しているSNSだそうです。登録すると自分でプレイリストを作ることが出来ます。このプレイリストには決まりがあって
・1つのプレイリストには45曲以上登録しなくてはならない
・1つのプレイリストに登録できる同一アーティストの曲は3曲まで
・再生順はランダム(早送り回数にも制限があるらしい)
いろんなアーティストの曲を少しずつきいてお気に入りを見つけてねという趣旨のサービスらしく制約も多いのですが、1曲まるごとタダで聞けるサービスというのは珍しいみたいです。ただ15アーティスト45曲のプレイリストを作るのは結構大変(洋楽詳しくないし…)。みな考えることは同じようでいくつか自分で選曲すると残りは適当にうめてくれる機能もあります。
このfinetuneで"The Cristmas Song"と"Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas"を検索するとどちらも250件ヒットしました。どうやら250件が表示できる最大件数のようなのでもしかしたらそれ以上あるのかもしれません。さすが名曲？
30秒ずつ試聴が出来るのでなるべくいろんなスタイルになるように選んでみました。とはいえさすがに全部をこの2曲にするのもつまらないのでそれぞれ10数曲。それ以外はfinetuneに適当に選んでもらいましたよ。数は多くないけれどJ-POPもあるので1曲混ぜてみました。何が出るかは…。
というわけでもし良かったら1曲でも聞いてみてください。多分耳にしたことあるのではないかと思います。全部聞くにはものすごく時間かかりそうですけど…。
それにしても今回のような聞き比べにはこのfinetuneは最適なサービスかもしれませんね。でも……、レコードやCDを買い集めては一曲ずつカセットテープにダビングする、そういうのって音楽を愛するレコードコレクターのささやかでかつ贅沢な楽しみのような気がするんですね。そういう贅沢が検索ワードを入力するだけで(しかもタダで)できてしまう。それって正しいことなのだろうか？なんて事をちらっと考えてしまう僕は相当な貧乏性ですかね。
